Black Residence
This project involves a substantial new extension to an existing mill cottage in Invergowrie. The extension is largely made from timber and incorporates several environmental features such as a "breathing wall system" and high levels of insulation.
The new entrance provides a link between the old and new with a bespoke staircase and gallery over. The entrance hall opens up to the south with folding doors bringing the garden into the house. The extension provides a large lounge with double height over, with a study mezzanine level. The dining kitchen is linked to the garden with a stepped timber deck and glazed doors to gain maximum morning light. The master bedroom to the upper level has a cathedral style roof with the roof space open up to a timber ridge beam internally. |
